Francisco Martín Rico

I am a Full Professor at Rey Juan Carlos University, where I lead the Intelligent Robotics Lab. I teach courses such as Software Architectures for Robots and Planning and Cognitive Systems. I am the author of the book A Concise Introduction to Robot Programming with ROS 2 and I served as a member of the ROS 2 Technical Steering Committee. I am the main author of PlanSys2, the reference symbolic planning framework for ROS 2, and contribute to other core packages such as rclcpp, Behavior Trees, and Nav2. I am currently involved in several European and national research projects, and my group is an international reference in ROS 2, mobile robot navigation, and planning. I am the President of the Asociación ROS España. I was awarded the ROS Developer of the Year Award in 2022 at the ROS Developer Day.
